Description
RECLAMATION is a 5-week journey through the elements of songwriting. Held with the intention and understanding that music is soul retrieval, we will journey through the elements of songwriting as a tool for community, self-awareness, and spiritual communion. Soul retrieval is a shamanic term, that refers to the process of reintegrating dissociated and repressed parts of the self back into everyday consciousness. Because communicating emotion is at the heart of songwriting, we use music as a gateway to access our emotions, reclaim stories, share our voices, and connect with others through our shared humanity. You will learn practices and tools to alchemize your emotions so that your life can become a work of art. Some topics we'll be exploring are: soul loss & retrieval, emotional alchemy, creative writing, sound journeying, ritual, listening, music theory, and more.
In this journey, you will learn the elements of songwriting and tools for alchemizing emotions so that they can become works of art. At the end of this course, you will have alchemized your journey into the form of a song that you will share with your fellow journeyers. This course is designed for people who are new to songwriting, or who want to take their craft to a new level that integrates mind, body, and spirit. RECLAMATION is about tapping into what lives deep inside of us that is asking to be reclaimed. What are YOU reclaiming?
